Stress, Health, & Your Brain

There is more information than ever that the stress of modern life is one of the  main  causes of inflammation and illness, and that illness generates stress.  There is very little separation between physical, mental and emotional health. They are all components of one intricate  system. We cannot heal the whole without addressing all of the parts and how they relate. The nervous system is the control  center of all body systems. If the psyche is stressed, the body is stressed, and this  creates  self perpetuating cycle. So what can we do?

Each individual person has a unique stress response that was mapped out very early in life, that is activated by present time circumstances.  You can choose to take control of how you experience and respond to life in the present by essentially adding new routes to your internal map.

How do you do this?

By creating and generating positive experiences and developing positive thought patterns that support your health and well being, you can create new positive neural pathways in your brain. New routes on the map!

You create your reality by where you choose to keep your attention. This is a scientific fact.  If you choose to keep your attention on  the things in life that cause you stress -  people, places, things, your own suffering,  then over time you become habituated to living by the hormones of stress and the chemicals that they produce.  This chemical state can directly inhibit function of the digestive system, immune system,  ultimately  the whole body. We can alter this physiological reality by working with the brain directly, through attention, intention, and embodied experience. Again, creating and generating positive experiences and developing positive thought patterns, laying new routes on your map!

You can start now, simply by committing to spending more time focusing your thoughts and attention on the things in life that make you feel good, however simple they may be. This in itself is a powerful scientifically proven healing tool.  The smell of a flower, your love of your pet, the beauty of nature.

There are many supportive tools available to support this practice.I have built a therapeutic practice and lifestyle round this science. It really works!
